  • It works exceedingly well.
This antenna is extremely easy to install. Looks good and receives over the air stations amazingly. I would recommend this to anyone wanting an inexpensive quality indoor antenna.

  • These work so well I bought two of them.
A few things to remember: Many stations have moved to UHF so most antennas are not going to work well much past 50 miles from the transmitter site, and most indoor antennas will only be good for about 30 or so miles. For indoor antennas Putting the antenna in a window facing the TV Station's antenna site will give the best results (Most stations and strongest signal) as well as installing higher up. Size does matter to a degree, a larger antenna (for the TV Bands) will tend to capture more of the signal. Do your homework first and find out what the frequencies and directions of the stations are in for your location so you can buy the appropriate model for the best results. (This antenna is good for the UHF band, but if your channels are on VHF you will want a different one.) Sometimes a preamp will make the reception worse to try it, with and without the preamp. -- That being said, I'm pretty impressed with this little antenna, I only have them stuck to a window and pointed a bit off from the optimum direction and they still perform pretty well. I could spend quite a bit more and go with a larger outdoor antenna and get better results but for the price that I paid (under $20 for each antenna ), these antennas work quite well. ... show more

  • Added our local channels and about 40 more
This antenna is easy to install. After just a few hours of use, it seems to function well. Local TV station reception is solid.

  • Waste of time and money for me
UPDATE 10/25/2016: I cannot get more than 70 channels anymore. Of the 70, maybe 5 are in English and aren't shopping channels. And I get only one major network. So this product doesn't work for me in the end. I tried moving the antenna 50 different times, which only resulted in using more doublesided tape and a lot of tape residue all over my window. UPDATE 10/18/2016: The antenna was inadvertently moved and now for the life of me I cannot get more than maybe 70 channels, most of which are NOT major network channels. At this point I'm rather disappointed and have spent a lot of time experimenting with placement and am getting about 1/2 of the total channels as before. I decided to finally cut the cable cord and bought this antenna as a similar type came highly recommended but this one was considerably less expensive. I live just 20 miles from downtown LA so I figured the 50 mile radius would be more than enough. Perhaps 20-30 miles would have been fine, or even rabbit ears. Either way, at last search I had 124 channels! Mind you, it's important to search and search again and again and again and move the antenna around, up and down, on its back, flat, on the wall, in a window, etc. For me the window facing north works best. I live in a courtyard style apartment complex on the first of two floors yet I guess that doesn't matter as it must penetrate structures/trees, etc. in some way that I don't understand. I do think there are many, many variables to consider, including weather (which I don't have) and perhaps wind in particular. It seems that even if you put the antenna in a fixed location, your channels and reception will vary from time to time. When that happens, I'd suggest searching and searching again and so on. Getting ABC to come in took several tries. It finally happened when I got up to 121 channels I think. Even then it's not real clear but I know if I fiddle with the antenna's location a tad it will come in fine. That of course means that once the antenna is moved even a bit, other channels might be lost or at less viewable. Yet you might get some channels that you previously did not. Oddly enough I have a local San Diego CBS channel which comes in great, even though I am roughly 100 miles north of San Diego (and my antenna faces north, not south). While 124 channels may sound fantastic, I would say at least 2/3 of them are in languages I don't speak. I've realized that there is so much better tv to be found with an antenna instead of with cable. Some examples in the past few days: "Barney Miller," "The Mary Tyler Moore," "The White Shadow" and "Charlie's Angels," not to mention terrific classic movies like "The Great Escape." Sure, I might be dating myself but this stuff is more watchable to me than any reality tv program of today. Since most of what I watch besides live sports is nothing in particular, preferring to channel-surf mindlessly, this works out A-OK for me. One issue is that with antenna tv, unless you have a tv guide and/or want to go online to check every channel's website for listings, you really don't know what is on and when. And the descriptions (when they appear) for shows are often very basic. Perhaps someone has a suggestion on how I can easily find out what each local channel is broadcasting. Ultimately I wish I had done this years ago. With streaming MLB & NBA subscriptions plus Sling TV when needed (for ESPN, TNT, TBS and other channels that show MLB & NBA playoff games live that are not usually shown streaming online even with subscription), I am going to save tons and am a happy camper. Note: MLB Extra Innings on cable (which my dad has, 100 miles away) now comes with a free subscription to its streaming online service (which is normally $110-$130 of late) so it's a boon for me as I use that for free. It's been close to a month and I am now getting 149 channels. Some are pixelated/unclear but that's a lot of channels! ... show more

  • Not great all the time.
This system was easy to install. Depending on which station you are on, there is a lot of pixels. For some reason ABC seems to be the worst, but others have intermittent pixel issues. It is great to have to pick up your local stations since I do not have a a TV subscription that has local. There are quite a few stations, but I we are thinking of getting another antenna system that is stronger with more range. It is a great free substitution for cable subscription. I only have apps, Prime, Netflix and roku. No local stations until I purchased this antenna. ... show more

  • Wow it pulls in the channels well
Excellent antenna. Something changed this year and my tv antenna coverage went from so-so to almost no reception. But once I plugged this antenna in, I was surprised to see so many channels. I thought I had about 10 good channels before, but now I am receiving 60+ good channels.

  • Installation was super easy and took me maybe 5-10 minutes at most
We live in a high rise in downtown Denver. Our building only provides DirectTV. Although they advertise getting numerous channels, perhaps only 30% are actually watchable, the rest being advertising channels etc., and the cost was horrendous. We decided to cut the cable. We ordered the 1byone 50 miles amplified HDTV antenna. Installation was super easy and took me maybe 5-10 minutes at most. We were worried that since we live in a high rise in the center of town with big buildings all around us that the 1byone would get too much interference and would not work. We were totally surprised and happy to find that we receive all the local channels very clearly, and approximately 20 more channels that I didn't even know existed! We have a Roku for internet tv. If we want to watch a movie we turn to Netflix for Amazon Prime. There are numerous other internet providers as well. We do not miss cable at all!! And, we are saving over $100/month (even after including add on costs for the internet channels we subscribe to). Our tv viewing now is more a choice of "what do I want to watch" instead of surfing for the least objectionable channel to watch on cable. We are very happy with the 1byone. It does what it claims to do, is unobtrusive decoration wise, and was well worth the money. My wife comments that our screen picture on the HD channels we get is clearer than it was with cable. For anyone considering cutting cable, the 1byone enables that, and is well worth the money. ... show more
