I used for the first time this weekend. Pulled the motor out of my CJ5 258 to rebuild. As soon as the weight of the motor started to transfer to the stand I thought it was snap in half. I weld a brace on the up right to help. But still was enough. I ended up putting a wood brace on the front under the oil pan to keep it level. To me it looks like the mounting plate is flexing or bending under the weight of the engine. Going to try and reforce plate. ... show more

There is no way this stand can support 1000lbs. I tried to put an AMC inline 6 on it and is sagged down about 15 to 20 degrees. The back plate that supports the motor was bending and the main stand post was bending. This thing is complete junk. Perhaps it would be suitable for a lawnmower engine.
